Presenting Tet Gifts to Union Members in Difficult Circumstances for the 2021 Lunar New Year (Year of the Ox)

On the morning of January 27, 2021, the Trade Union of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry (HUFI), in cooperation with the Trade Union of the Central Commercial Enterprise Bloc in Ho Chi Minh City, organized a program to present Tet gifts to union members facing difficult circumstances on the occasion of the 2021 Lunar New Year (Year of the Ox).

The program was attended by Comrade Ta Thi To Trinh, President of the Trade Union of the Central Commercial Enterprise Bloc in Ho Chi Minh City; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hong Anh, Vice President of HUFI; and Comrade Nguyen Chi Anh Thu, President of the University's Trade Union.

Comrade Ta Thi To Trinh stated that with every arrival of Tet and Spring, charitable activities to present gifts to workers in difficult circumstances are indispensable tasks. These gifts represent the heart of the Bloc's Trade Union, aiming to join hands and provide encouragement so that workers can enjoy a warm and happy Tet with their families and loved ones. Furthermore, she praised the achievements that the HUFI Trade Union has accomplished, especially the practical activities implemented to care for the lives of workers during the traditional Tet holiday.

On behalf of the University's leadership, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hong Anh emphasized: “This is a practical program that demonstrates the spirit of mutual love and solidarity that the Bloc's Trade Union and the University's Trade Union extend to our union members and workers as Spring arrives.” She also expressed her gratitude for the care, encouragement, and support shared by the Bloc's Trade Union toward the activities of the HUFI Trade Union.

During the program, the Trade Union of the Central Commercial Enterprise Bloc in Ho Chi Minh City presented 10 support packages (each consisting of a gift worth VND 300,000 and VND 700,000 in cash). The HUFI Trade Union presented 7 gifts (each worth VND 2,000,000) to union members and workers facing difficult circumstances for the Lunar New Year. Specially on this occasion, the Women's Affairs Committee of the University's Trade Union provided financial support to Mr. Le Luong Hieu's family to treat his son's critical illness, with a total donation of over VND 80 million collected from various trade union units.
